MONDAY – ONGOING

Duplicate Bridge: Every Monday at 7 p.m. at the Longhouse in Eastsound duplicate bridge. For details call 376-2797 or 376-8278.

Chess: The Orcas Chess Club meets at Eastsound Library at 3:30 p.m., every Monday afternoon. Members age five to 105 with exceptions at both ends are welcome. Contact Phil Heikkinen at the library for details.

Al-Anon: The Al-Anon group on Orcas meets at 7:30 p.m. in the Old Parish Hall to the right of Emmanuel Episcopal Church. Al-Anon is for friends and family of alcoholics.

TUESDAY – ONGOING

Open mic: The Lower Tavern has open mic night weekly starting at 7:30 p.m. Jaen Black will host the event. Everyone is welcome.

WEDNESDAY – ONGOING

Theosophical Library: Indralaya’s Theosophical Library is open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. The theosophical discussion group also meets at Indralaya from 7:30 to 9 p.m. For info call 376-4526 or email indralaya@indralaya.com.

THURSDAY – ONGOING

Open Mic Pizza Night: A weekly benefit at Doe Bay Resort Cafe with a different nonprofit organization chosen to benefit each month. Dinner served from 6 to 10 p.m. and the Open Mic starts between 7 and 8 p.m.

Donation drop-off: Granny’s Attic sale items can be dropped off at the Orcas Senior Centers on Thursdays from noon to 3 p.m from March 12 to April 16.

SATURDAY – ONGOING

Ping Pong: The Orcas Table Tennis Association plays at the Orcas Christian School gym. The table tennis games run from 6 to 8 p.m. For more info, call Jamey Hanse at 376-2240.

Friday, April 10

Deer Harbor potluck: The April potluck is at 6:30 p.m. and will include entertainment by the Orcas a Capella group. Bring a dish to share, place settings, utensils and beverages. More information: 376-5404.

Saturday, April 11

Easter egg hunt: Orcas Island Lion’s Club Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be at 10 a.m. at Cascade Lake at Moran State Park.

The Onions: Award-winning high school singing group The Onions will perform at 4 p.m. in the Oddfellows Hall. Tickets are $8 and may be purchased at the door the evening of the performance or at Darvill’s.

Writers’ Roundtable: In celebration of National Poetry Month, April’s Roundtable will be devoted to poetry. Bring a poem or two that are favorites to read and share with others from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Orcas Library.

Taarka: Acoustic music Group Taarka will be performing at the Odd Fellows Hall at 7:30 pm. Tickets available at the door for $10.

Olga potluck supper: Social hour is at 5:30 p.m., dinner starts at 6:30 p.m., and the program begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Olga Community Center.

Sunday, April 12

Easter egg hunt: The Deer Harbor Inn and Deer Harbor Women’s Auxiliary will hold an Easter Egg Hunt from 1-2 p.m. at the Deer Harbor Inn. The event is for children 12 and under. For more information call 376-5172.

Easter service: Lighthouse Christian Center is offering an Easter Sunday service at the Orcas Senior Center starting at 10 a.m. Free Easter lunch will follow the service.

Monday, April 13

Book club: Darvill’s book for April is “Kitchen Confidential” by Anthony Bourdain. Meet at 7 p.m. at the store. All are welcome and the book is available at Darvill’s.

T’ai Chi Chih class: Joan Roulac is offering a free introductory class of T’ai Chi Chih at the Orcas Senior Center in the Lundeen Room from 9:30 to 10:30. She is also offering an eight-week spring series of classes starting April 13. For more information, call 376-6336.

Marine science lecture: At 7 p.m., Thor Hanson will give a free public lecture on pigeon guillemots at the Camp Orkila Marine Salmon Center.

Friday, April 10

Easter egg hunt: The Lopez 4H Club will be having its annual easter egg hunt at Odlin Park at 2 p.m. for one-year-olds through kids in the fifth grade.
