‘Whale of a Show’ returns to Orcas Center – featuring adult performers

Whale of a Show was an annual tradition that goes way back to the early days of Orcas Center.

After a while, it became a show performed mainly by youth. This year, the Orcas Center is bringing back Whale of a Show performed by adults – after all, why should we let the kids have all the fun?

A lot of familiar talent will be performing this year including Turtleback Brass (Dimitri Stankevich, Steve Alboucq Craig Canine, Don Breazeal, Joe Boucher), Orcatrazz, The Last Word (Oliver Groenewald – trumpet, Steve Alboucq – trumpet, Brian Moss – piano, Melody Funk – bass, Randy Jezerski – drums), Ron Meyers, Adia Dolan, Pedro Lopez, Jim Bredouw, Lek Thixton, Tow Away Zone (Carl Burger, Tish Knapp, Marj Franke), and Lesley Liddle.

If you want to showcase your talents, there will be one more day of auditions this Friday, Jan. 10 from 5 p.m-6:30 p.m. Whale of a Show will run on Friday, Jan. 17 at 7 p.m on Center Stage at Orcas Center. Tickets range from $15-$47 and are available at orcascenter.org.
