The popular talent show featuring young Orcas performers, Whale of a Show, returns to the Orcas Center Stage on Thursday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m.

“The show will be fun and it will be an opportunity for children and youth to perform on the Orcas Center stage,” Didier Gincig said, who will emcee the event along with his daughter, Emilie Gincig. Gincig is director of the Orcas Island Recreation Program, which has partnered with Orcas Center for the past three years on Whale of a Show.

This year’s show will feature performances by children at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels with instrumental, singing, dancing, and more. Some of the treats will include “Get a Load of Toad,” with musical direction by Grace McCune and choreography by Susan Babcock. Isabella and Mona Evans will perform “Let’s Go Fly a Kite.” Other performers will include Mathew Laslo-White, Kailley Grantham, accompanied by her grandfather, Ron Meyer, and Matthew Olsen’s Orcas String Studio. A whopping 15 acts packs a lot of fun into one evening.

Patrons are reminded that the show begins at 6:30 pm and not the traditional 7:30 curtain time.

Tickets for Whale of a Show are $8 and may be purchased at www.orcascenter.org or at the Orcas Center Box office, 376-2281 ext. 1.
