Star tenor Jonas Kaufmann sings the title role of the tortured poet in the Met’s acclaimed new production of Massenet’s “Werther” streaming to Orcas Center on Sunday, March 16 at 1 p.m.
Richard Eyre, whose hit production of Bizet’s “Carmen” remains the most popular broadcast since the series’ inception, directs this production of “Werther” which stars Jonas Kaufmann and features French mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch in her highly-anticipated Met debut as Charlotte, the object of Werther’s unrequited love.
