Orcas Center has announced the addition of two events to its 2009 season.

Cabaret in the Air, an evening of aerial dance, song, music and spectacle, will be performed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 23, 24 and 25 in the OffCenter Stage. This unique, mystery-filled variety show will feature several local artists, including Maria Bullock, Grace McCune, Becky Klaus, Bruce Pavitt, Leslie Liddle, Jaen Black, Audrey Smith Moreland, Sabina Smith Moreland, Whitney Hartzell and Lily Sky. Tickets for the Thursday and Saturday shows are $12, and on Friday night a special event will include the performance, a hosted bar and tapas for $25. Seating for each of the three performances is limited.

On Saturday, November 7, Stolen Sweets will perform on the Orcas Center mainstage. This Portland, Ore. group delivers vintage acoustic jazz. The female vocalists provide tight three-part harmonies in the style of the Boswell Sisters, radio stars of the late 20s and early 30s. They are accompanied by three men providing string syncopation on guitar and bass. Tickets are $24, $16 for Orcas Center members and $10 for students.
