Tragedy: A Tragedy – Live Theatre Returns to Orcas Center

It’s hard to believe that the last performance on the center stage at Orcas Center was The Rocky Horror Show back in Oct. 2019. Now, after two years of closure, Orcas Center welcomes live audiences back with a timely production: Tragedy: A Tragedy, written by Will Eno, and starring local actors Jon Spinogatti, Colleen Smith, Caleb Summers, Christopher Evans, and Liz Kistler, with design and direction by Jake Perrine.

The story centers around an unfolding crisis in a newsroom, Frank (Jon Spinogatti) in the Studio is aided by his team of field reporters: John in the Field (Chris Evans), Constance at the Home (Colleen Smith), and Michael, the Legal Advisor, (Caleb Summers). As the impending event approaches and chaos builds, the broadcasters reveal themselves to be all too human. In an era during which many have come to question the veracity of the news media, Will Eno’s Tragedy: A Tragedy hilariously transcends fact-in-fiction in search of universal truths about the world–and times–we live in.

Tragedy: A Tragedy will run Nov. 4-13 on the Orcas Center mainstage with socially distanced seating. Advanced ticket sales only – no door sales. Proof of vaccination is required at the door. Ticket prices range from $15-$47. Call 360-376-2281 ext 1, or visit www.orcascenter.org for tickets and more information.
