“The Sunshine Boys” comedy to play at the Orcas Grange

The Actors Theater of Orcas Island announces five performances of Neil Simon’s comedy “The Sunshine Boys”, starring John Mazzarella and Fred Whitridge and directed by Doug Bechtel.

“When vaudeville was at its peak, The Sunshine Boys Willie Clark and Al Lewis were at their peak,” organizers say. “For 43 years, these two entertained audiences all over the country. Now, after eleven years of retirement, Lewis and Clark are being brought out of retirement for one more performance of their best known routine, this time for TV audiences. Laughs galore. In true Neil Simon style, “The Sunshine Boys” is laugh out loud funny with a warm streak that will leave you feeling better for having seen this show.”

Joining Mazzarella and Whitridge in “The Sunshine Boys” are Nick Hershenow, Gwyneth Burrill, Pat Ayers, Greg Ayers and Doug Bechtel.

There will be just five performances of The Sunshine Boys: Friday, June 18, Saturday, June 19 and Friday through Sunday, June 25 through June 27. All performances will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Grange.

This play is suitable for all ages. Tickets are $10 and are available at Darvill’s Book Store or online at www.orcasactors.com or at the door.
