Summer Music Concerts at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish | Lund to open series

Submitted by Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

The Music Committee at Emmanuel Episcopal Parish is pleased to announce (after a two-year hiatus) that our summer music program is starting once again.

The Music at Emmanuel concerts, (formerly known as the Brown Bag Concerts), will be held on Wednesday afternoons from 12 to 12:30 in the church. This year’s season will be shorter than normal as some groups have yet to begin rehearsals. As in the past, admission is not charged, although we encourage donations that provide scholarships to Orcas music students to attend music camp. The performers themselves are not paid but donate their time and talent as well.

The schedule opens with Martin Lund on July 13. He is a versatile musician and a popular music teacher. Lund last performed at the summer concerts in July 2019.

Other concerts include Carl Burger and Tow Away Zone on July 20, guitarist Jeffry Steele on July 27, Sharon Abreu on August 3, Turtleback Brass on Aug. 10 and Tre Voci on Aug. 17.

There is no charge for the concerts, however, the Music Committee accepts donations to provide for scholarships for students to attend summer music camps. For more information, call the church office at 360-376-2352.
