Orcas Center will present local vocalist Stormy Hildreth and fellow musician Mitch House as part of their streaming concert series on Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. To watch, go to www.OrcasCenter.org on the day and time of the performance.
Hildreth is known on the island for her involvement in local theatrical productions at the Orcas Center and her own live concerts. Recently with the pandemic, she has been focused on her education. She graduated from Spring Street International School in Friday Harbor in June of 2020, and in September, she remotely began her first semester at Berklee College of Music.
During her studies, Hildreth connected with fellow student, Mitch House, an extremely talented vocalist and songwriter. The two of them began daydreaming about how fun it would be to put on a show together, when they realized they could bring that dream into reality through Orcas Center’s streaming series. While classes have been held remotely throughout this past year, Berklee has announced that it will be opening completely in person come fall of 2021. House will be departing for Boston in late May, with Hildreth following suit a few months later. They are thrilled to share their music with the island in one final going away concert before becoming engulfed in the Berklee experience.
Hildreth and House will be joined by several surprise guests throughout the evening. With a mix of carefully selected covers and originals songs written directly from the heart, this magical night isn’t one to miss!
