The Staxx Brothers return to the San Juan Islands on March 11 and 12 to release their brand new 12-inch vinyl single, Black and Mild, produced by Justin Armstrong (Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Death Cab for Cutie).

The flip side of the record features dear friend Dr. Fink from Prince’s band, The Revolution, on the barn burner song “Ice Cold.”

On Friday night the band is back at Rumor Mill in Friday Harbor. On Saturday night the band plays its first show at The Lower Tavern in Eastsound.

Both nights have no cover. The band kicks off around 9 p.m.

The Staxx Brothers and their parent label, Soul United, is heavily involved in bringing the Orcas Island Music Festival to the island in partnership with Andon Hiltner, a musician with deep local roots on Orcas.

They are also partnering with the San Juan Island power couple Lynnette Cabrera and her husband Bobby on an outrageous semi-historically accurate reenactment of the infamous Pig War. The event will culminate with an annual barn party that is open to the community and historical interpretation.
