Spots left in free filmmaking class for kids

Island kids can participate in a free filmmaking opportunity Oct. 4-7 sponsored by www.OrcasCars.com and supported by the Orcas Island Film Festival. Kids can apply to become a part of a 12-member film production team, led by a director and producer from Nashville, Tennessee. Apply at: http://www.orcascars.com/film/

All Orcas Island students are invited to submit an application to be considered for this unique opportunity during this year’s Orcas Island Film Festival. Over the four days of the film festival (Oct. 4-7) you will learn how to create a story, write a script, build a crew, film, and produce a movie under the guidance of Nashville-based three-time Emmy-winning director and producer Mike Stryker. Towards the end of the four-day workshop, you will become a part of a crew responsible for a fully-produced Hollywood style video.

Thursday and Friday afternoons will be devoted to pre-production workshops, and Saturday and Sunday will be spent filming and producing the video around the island.
