Sports writer Art Thiel to come to Orcas Library

Art Thiel, author and sports writer for the Seattle Post Intelligencer, will speak on “all things Seattle Sports – Sonics, Mariners, Seahawks, Huskies – and the upcoming Beijing Olympics, when he come to the Orcas Library on Friday, April 25.

Thiel has been with the Seattle PI since 1980, and a columnist since 1987. He’s also worked for the News-Tribune in Tacoma and the Bellevue Journal-American

Thiel has done radio commentary for several Seattle area radio stations; currently he can be heard Friday mornings and evenings on KPLU-FM.

His first book, “Out of Left Field” chronicled the amusingly perilous misadventures of the Seattle Mariners as they climbed from the national dumpster to a place of respectability and even contention.
