Solstice Parade is on the way

The annual Orcas Island Summer Solstice Parade is happening!

The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 18 at high noon. It is sponsored by San Juan County Parks and Fair.

The foot parade is open to the public at large. All are welcome to join in marching. This year‘s theme is: “Radiate Sparkles.”

It’s time to make your most vibrant costume and dance down the street with your community! Musicians are welcome!

Organizers ask that there be NO USE of written words, signs, slogans pets or motors.

The route begins at the Oddfellows Hall, where participants line up on Haven Road. The gathering time is 11:30 a.m. and the parade starts at noon. It will continue to North Beach Rd. and finish on the Village Green where celebrations will continue with special guests, dancing, singing, live music, costume fashion and a big foot calling contest. Expect performing and celebrations to last until 3 p.m. alongside the market vendors.
