A free solar energy workshop for educators interested in introducing preschool and elementary students to renewable energy, electricity, engineering and design is on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Orcas Library. The teacher training will begin with an overview of the science, technology and classroom applications of solar energy, and then launch into hands-on activities.
