After our summer hiatus, the Orcas Senior Center will be resuming its free, informative and intellectually stimulating lectures series called “Meeting of the Minds.” On Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m., Nancy Southern will present “Seniors and Cannabis.”

Cannabis use has a long and interesting history of use in many cultures; it has been used to enhance mood and to help alleviate aches and pains. If you’re going to use it, it makes sense to do so mindfully and with knowledge.

Join Southern for an informative presentation on the thoughtful use of cannabis for seniors. Southern says, “Let’s talk in a factual, honest way,” adding, “After a long time of Just Say No, let’s Just Say KNOW instead.” She will share her personal story and address some basic facts and fictions. She will then open the floor for a question and answer discussion.
