Saturday Farmers’ Market in Eastsound Village Green, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bullfrog Competition Barbecue. A fund-raiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. A competitive event for all Island Chefs. Taste the BBQ after the awards ceremony! Orcas Public Library’s Saturday storytimes will be held from 11:30 am to noon on the Village Green.

“Music in Motion” is the theme of the 10th annual Summer Solstice Celebration. Parade begins at noon at Oddfellows Hall to the Eastsound Village and Stage on the Green for entertainment. Contact Laura Gibbons, 376-4066.

MONDAY, June 23

Drawing portraits with Seattle artist and Gage Academy instructor Geoff Flack at the Senior Center. Participants will be drawing from live models and using soft pencils and charcoals. LOPEZ ISLAND

SATURDAY, June 21

Farmers Market located next to the Lopez Community Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Helpers wanted to pull Tansy Ragwort from noon to 3 p.m. at the Land Bank’s Upright Head Preserve (adjacent to the Lopez ferry landing). Bring gloves if you have them, if not we will have extra. Refreshments served. Meet at the upper ferry parking lot. For more information call 378-4402.

P.E.O. Picnic/Beach party. P.E.O. is a philanthropic educational organization devoted to the assistance to women going to college.
