The 4th Annual Steve Resch Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 16 at the Orcas Island Golf Club.

“Thank you to the Orcas Island community for all of its support that has made the Steve Resch Memorial Golf Tournaments such a success,” say organizers. “Steve spent his youth on Orcas Island where he attended Nellie S. Milton Grade School, Orcas Middle School and graduated from Orcas Island High School in 1989 as class salutatorian and a three-sport athlete. Steve is a beloved husband, son, brother and friend. Steve lost his battle with cancer in 2016.”

He requested of his friends and family that a scholarship be arranged for a graduating Orcas

Island senior each year. The Steve Resch Memorial Scholarship has now been awarded to three deserving Orcas Island graduating seniors.

The entrance fee for players is $133 and includes a cart. As part of this fundraising event, they are reaching out to local businesses and individuals to support this cause with opportunities to sponsor holes on the golf course. Hole and cart sponsorships are available and will include custom signs posted on the course.

Registration for both players and sponsorships will close on April 26. They will be conducting

a pre-registration meeting from 4-6 p.m. at the Lower Tavern on Saturday, March 21.
