What is true friendship? Come on out next Thursday and Friday, Oct. 27 and 28, 7 p.m., at Eastsound’s Random Howse, and enjoy the hilarious and often touching perspectives of two long time friends, Harry and Sam.

They like to pass the time posing outlandish questions to one another: “If ya had the choice, would ya rather love a woman whose top half was a fish and whose bottom half was a woman, or a woman whose top half was a woman and whose bottom half was a fish?” Harry asks. “Good question,” responds Sam. Their queries, covering everything from the nature of God to the merits of a Pimento loaf sandwich, seem off the wall, but they slowly reveal the two men’s characters, and allow them to take stock of each other while avoiding some of life’s mundane, but important, matters.

Local stars, Christopher Evans and Jake Perrine, bring their exceptional comedic and dramatic artistry to the play, written by Karen Ellison, and directed by Tom Fiscus. The play is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York. The play’s language and portrayals are suitable for all audiences.

Tickets are $10 and are available at Darvill’s or at the door. Random Howse’s Thai menu and full bar are available from 5 p.m. Reservations suggested. Call 376-1111.
