Public invited to San Juan Islands Agricultural Summit Island-Wide Celebration March 8

The San Juan Islands Agricultural Summit is hosting a delightful evening celebrating local food and community at our Ag Summit Celebration dinner at Oddfellows Hall as part of the full summit. This event, open to the public, is not just about food; it’s about coming together to support our local farmers and growers who work tirelessly to provide us with fresh, sustainable produce. Come join us for a night of delicious food, lively conversation, and celebration of our local farmers and growers. Let’s come together to support our community and savor the flavors of our region!

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a free session titled: Germinating Ideas: Lightning Talks on Climate, Carbon, and Agriculture in SJC, facilitated by Liz Carlisle, author of Healing Grounds and 2024 Agricultural Summit Keynote Speaker. Immerse yourself in the excitement and hope surrounding the regenerative farming practices taking root in SJC. This unique gathering fosters peer-to-peer learning and knowledge exchange, offering inspiration and practical ideas that have been tested right here on our islands. Let’s cultivate a future of innovation and resilience together!

A ticketed dinner, prepared with local foods by The Kitchen, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Beer and wine will be available for purchase separately. Enjoy socializing and connecting until 9:00 p.m. To make dinner more accessible, tickets are offered on a sliding scale from $30-50. We understand that everyone’s financial situation is different, so we want to ensure that everyone can join in the festivities regardless of their budget. Every ticket purchase helps sustain our local food system and promotes community resilience.

Please register for either or both the free session and ticketed dinner here: AgSummitCelebration2024.eventbrite.com.

A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.
