Presidents’ Day Town Hall

Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) invites constituents to meet him for a Presidents’ Day Town Hall meeting Monday, Feb. 17, from 10 – 11:30 a.m. at the Orcas Island Fire and Rescue Station, 45 Lavender Lane, Eastsound, Washington 98245. Town halls are an opportunity for Larsen to hear directly from constituents about important issues in an informal setting. Larsen will discuss the progress Congress has made on its “For The People” agenda and take questions and comments from attendees. In 2019, Larsen held nearly twenty community forums across the Second District, including eight Community Coffees and six Veterans Forums.

Larsen will also meet with leadership from Friends of the Olga Store Building from 1:30- 2:10 p.m, at 7034 Olga Road, Olga, Washington, 98279. Larsen will receive an update on the nonprofit’s work to preserve historic Olga Store. Larsen helped Friends of the Olga Store Building expedite their application for 501(c)3 nonprofit status, enabling the organization to purchase the store last month.

The community of Olga was founded in 1860 and named after the mother of the first Olga storekeeper, Anthony Ohlert. The Olga Store has stood in its current location since 1937 and is a cornerstone of the Orcas Island community. Larsen is a strong supporter of efforts to preserve the rich history of Northwest Washington for current and future generations to learn from and enjoy.

These events are open to the press. Please RSVP to Joseph Tutino at Joseph.Tutino@mail.house.gov.
