Pop up art show at Emmanuel Parish Church

Emmanuel Episcopal Church proudly announces a one-day “pop-up” gift show, “The Blue Lamb Boutique,” to be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 19 at the Parish Hal.

The sale will feature creative work by parishioners, including painter Barbara Evans, bead artist Lisa Heisinger, and goldsmith Vance Stephens, among others. Shown here is Betsy Nelson with a portrait entitled “Unknown Woman.”

Nelson notes that, “People have always been the main focus of my art. …After doing a landscape, still life or abstract piece, it is back to the human form.” She intends to have examples of all the above on sale at the coming event. Nelson has lived on the island since 1975, and her teachers have included Caroline Buchanan and Terry Johnson, with whom she continues to study.

The boutique, whose name was inspired by the Charles J. Konnick window above the church entry, celebrates the Emmanuel Community’s creative gifts including photography, paper arts, clothing and quilting, table linens, and jewelry, culinary and garden-sourced items—and a few as yet unspecified “delightful surprises.”

For questions, call Mary Greenwell, 360-376-4925, or Antoinette Botsford, 360-376-4285. The activity is sponsored by the church’s St. Agnes Guild.
