Orcas realtors are doing their part to ensure that community members get enough food this season.
Every year the Orcas Island Association of Realtors picks a non-profit to donate funds to and this time it’s the Orcas Food Bank. In addition to monetary donations, each office has a food drive box where the public can drop off items.
Victoria Shaner, chairperson of this year’s fundraising campaign, is asking for the usual non-perishables, but also household items like toilet paper, toothpaste, soap, paper towels, and diapers.
“People don’t think about it, but toilet paper and diapers are necessities too,” she said.
Shaner will deliver the goods from each office every Tuesday morning, which is the day of the food bank, through December.
The Windermere office also has a Toys for Tots and Tweens box for donated gifts.
