Orcas Island lit fest announces headliners for April events

The Orcas Island Lit Fest has announced its guest list of featured authors for its spring festival. Notable highlights of the lineup include National Book Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Adam Johnson, Pulitzer Prize winner Gilbert King and New York Times bestseller Jami Attenberg. Other celebrated artists announced today include critically acclaimed authors Kim Fu, Eric Puchner, Urban Waite and Willy Vlautin, and actress Miranda Otto, who will appear as part of the festival’s Book-to-Film Panel.

This inaugural festival is scheduled for April 13th to 15th, 2018, in association with the Orcas Island Center for the Arts, which will host the Lit Fest’s Bookfair and featured line-up of panels and readings, with additional workshops and offsite activities to take place throughout Orcas Island.

“We are particularly honored and pleased with our headliners for the festival thus far,” said Jule Treneer, president and co-founder. “It’s an exciting and diverse lineup with a good balance of celebrated authors and emerging voices.” OILF’s Festival planners are working hard now to include beloved regional poets, memoirists, and non-fiction authors.

About Orcas Island Lit Fest

The mission of the Orcas Island Lit Fest is to bring together people who love to read books with the authors who love to write them. This April, the Lit Fest is inviting a select group of authors to beautiful Orcas Island to join local and regional writers in sharing their art, wisdom and knowhow. Festivalgoers will have the chance to attend readings, panel discussions, writers’ workshops, a Friday night lit crawl, and a Saturday evening marquee event on the Center Stage at the Orcas Center followed by a Battle of the Genres showdown at the Oddfellows Hall.
