The Orcas Island Community Church presents “An American Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $20. The performance features the Seattle choir Radiance and guest conductor Doug Fullington.

“An American Christmas” is a fun and lively performance of early American music from New England, Appalachian, and Shaker traditions. It is a perfect performance for families, friends, and children to celebrate the holiday season. Raucous tunes in the shape-note tradition; simple, heartfelt Shaker melodies; and the proud and vigorous New England “primitive” style will take the audience on a journey discovering holiday fare from the variety of traditions that combine to create America’s vital and inspiring musical heritage.
