Alex-Glasser is largely self-taught in her use of clay.

Notes from the exhibit state, “Alex-Glasser’s work is quiet and understated, with unglazed rough-textured matte surfaces. Her hand-formed sculpture is built from hundreds of layers of clay, kiln-fired first and then buried in the ground and pit-fired again.”
