Orcas Christian School kicks off first Week of Worship of the year

Last week, Orcas Christian School held its first Week of Worship of the year, an annual event where guest speakers share messages of faith with students. This year, a duo of college students from Walla Walla University spoke about their personal journeys and encouraged students to “find your purpose” and live an intentional life.

Each day focused on a different theme, including service, purpose, community and forgiveness. The event leaders have turned their musical talents into a ministry, sharing their passion for music with others. Although they typically work with high school and college audiences, they have been touring elementary schools, high schools and academies throughout Washington.

The light, energy, passion and talent they brought to OCS left a lasting impact on students. The Week of Worship not only gives students the chance to see Christ at work through worship, stories and personal testimonies, but also helps build community across different grade levels.

“Music opens doors. Connects everybody, and allows me to share the message I want to share,” Zach, one of the event leaders, said.
