Made From Nature: Community Art Show

Drop Off Artwork: Thursday, October 19 from 10am-12pm

Opening Reception: Friday, October 20 from 5:30pm -7pm

This exhibit focuses on creations made with objects found in Mother Nature! We welcome all woodworkers, sculptors, basket-weavers, potters, collage makers, stone carvers, and any other island artists and craft-persons to bring their work for display. To participate, simply drop off your work on October 19, and join us for the opening reception on October 20. Orcas Center’s community art shows offer a rare opportunity for artists of all genres and skill levels to come together under one roof to showcase and celebrate local talent.

Featured Artists at Orcas Center have dedicated displays in the lobby and/or Madrona Room and give either a demonstration or presentation during the art opening event. Full marketing for the event and exhibit includes press releases, social media posts, as well as regular mentions in the weekly Orcas Center newsletter. To be considered as a featured artist, please submit a digital portfolio (minimum 3-5 images), artistic resume and/or statement to VAC@OrcasCenter.org by October 31, 2023.

Handmade Craft Market

The Visual Arts Committee of Orcas Center is excited to host a Handmade Craft Market on November 25th (Small Business Saturday) from 11am-4pm. This market is for handmade goods made by artisans on Orcas Island. Applications will be juried by the Visual Arts Committee, and there is a nominal $30-$40 fee for vendors.
