Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival is thrilled to invite our respected elder patrons to enjoy a rehearsal of our “Furioso!” concert at Orcas Center on Friday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m. The free event offers attendees an opportunity to see how chamber music is created by world-renowned artists, including violinists Chee-Yun and Zachary DePue, violist Aloysia Friedmann, pianist Jon Kimura Parker, cellists Valentin Radutiu and Ani Aznavoorian, and the Miró Quartet. Admission to the open rehearsal is free; no ticket is required.

The open rehearsal has been a longstanding tradition of the Festival, giving senior patrons a first glimpse of the final program prior to the weekend performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 5:30 p.m., both at Orcas Center. “Furioso!” will feature works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Gabriel Fauré, Alberto Ginastera and other celebrated composers. Friday night’s concert is generously sponsored by Ginny Hawker and Theron Soderlund. Saturday night’s concert is The Valerie Anders concert, generously sponsored by The Anders Foundation.
