There will be music and dancing when popular music educator Rachel Buchman returns to Orcas to visit pre-school students April 26 to May 1.

She’ll teach songs and the language of music to the young ones and coach teachers in methods of music presentation. In addition, Buchman will work with students in Pamela Wright’s elementary school General Music classes.  This “Musician-in-Residence” is being sponsored through a gift by a Orcas Island Chamber Music Festival donor.

In addition, the Chamber Music Festival is having its first ever Barn Dance on Sunday, April 29 at 3 p.m. The dance is for preschoolers and their families.  Buchman and local talent will lead a fun afternoon filled with music, dancing and goodies at an historic Orcas Island barn.  Teachers will be providing details to parents.  For more information, call the OICMF Office 376-6636.
