Have you ever wanted to make jewelry or repurpose and redesign something you already have into something you love? Kate Jewell and Mary Greenwall are excited to share the basics of jewelry making with you on Tuesday, February 13 at 1 pm at Orcas Senior Center. The cost to participate is $15 and will include some basic jewelry making supplies. Unlock your creativity with this Valentine’s Day-themed class featuring beads, wire, and findings to craft stunning earrings, bracelets, and necklaces.

Mary Greenwell and Kate Jewell have been making and selling jewelry on Orcas since 2007 and have sold many of their beautiful pieces at the Orcas Island Farmers Market and Rosario Resort and Spa. Chair Yoga: Enhancing Balance and Wellbeing for Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities

Join us for Chair Yoga, a soothing practice tailored for seniors and those with disabilities, held every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 10:45 am. This gentle technique incorporates the use of a chair for support, enabling participants to explore balance poses without the concern of falling.

Susie Frank, an Orcas resident of over 30 years, brings her expertise, having practiced yoga since 2009 and completed her yoga teacher training at 8 Limbs Yoga in Seattle in 2016. While Susie suggests a $15 donation per class ($12 for OSC members), no one will be turned away due to financial constraints. Ukulele Kanikipila: Join the Musical Fun at Orcas Senior Center!

Experience the joy of making music at Ukulele Kanikipila, Hawaiian for “play music,” every Monday from 1 to 3 pm at Orcas Senior Center. This gathering is open to everyone with an interest in playing music for two hours each week.

If you’re a beginner looking to dive into the world of ukulele playing, join Kathy Collister’s twice-weekly beginners’ ukulele class on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 to 1 pm. Kathy, an experienced instructor, will guide you through the basics of introductory chords and strumming techniques. The class is free of charge, but make sure to bring your own ukulele.

A certified aerobics instructor from her time in the US Virgin Islands during the 1980s, Pam recognized the advantages of strength training as she aged, leading her to acquire a personal training certificate.
