Living Well with a Disability workshop at senior center

Fifty-nine percent of San Juan County residents have identified themselves as having some sort of disability that prevents them from participating fully in their lives.

San Juan County, in partnership with Washington Vocational Services, presents “Living Well,” a 10-week self-management course designed specifically for people living in rural communities. This evidence-based, peer-led, health promotion workshop will be held at the Orcas Island Senior Center, on Fridays, June 30–Sept. 1 from 1–2:15 p.m. It is based on the philosophy which recognizes that individual choices are essential components for living fully independent life. Participants will set and reach quality-of-life goals by developing a healthy lifestyle.
