The Orcas Island Key Club is putting on a Paper Airplane Contest in support of Mercy Flights. We invite anyone in elementary school and up to engage in a paper airplane contest at the high school gym at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21.
There will be prizes for three winners in each category: accuracy, distance and creativity. Competitions are amongst age brackets: elementary schoolers, middle schoolers and high schoolers/adults.
Entry is free, and there will be a donation jar if you feel inclined to donate. Mercy Flights transports those in need of urgent care off the island for free, whether you have a doctor’s appointment, are in labor or need urgent off-island medical care, Mercy Flights will support you. It is my hope that our island can help support Mercy Flights and those who take the time to assist us, our friends and our loved ones.
As president of Key Club at the Orcas Island High School, I am so excited by this opportunity to give back to a nonprofit organization that does so much for our community.
