The Orcas Island Artworks will feature work by Janis Jones Mattox through the month of September.

Mattox will display botanical watercolors, acrylic and egg tempera paintings, and some fanciful stitchery. She has an ebullient, whimsical style that runs through many different media.

Mattox, her husband Bob, and their poodle Carly moved to Orcas a year ago from Boston.

“I am grateful for the spirit of Orcas for giving one the freedom and vision as the platform for creating,” she said. “I hope to delight the viewer with how I see life in a colorful way.”

The Artworks is open daily from 10 to 6.
