Holiday events at the Orcas Senior Center

Submitted by Orcas Senior Center

It’s the holiday season and the senior center is switching it up for 2018.

Get ready for lots of fun activities and events to wrap up the year, enjoy the holidays together, and give thanks. December at the senior center will be full of holiday events for our seniors and the entire community.

On Dec. 1, join us as we decorate the senior center to the nines with holiday goodness, from glittery trees to centerpieces. We will have holiday creation events with local artists, full of fancy crafting paper and lots of holiday laughter.

We are also going caroling. That’s right, get those singing voices and instruments ready for an in-house varoling event on Dec. 18 with hot chocolate, good tunes with friends, and possibly a visit from Santa. Come with us to Bellingham for the Festival of Trees, visit local spots like the Orcas Distillery, venture to Friday Harbor to see “The Nutcracker” ballet and stimulate your mind with a lecture on the Mayan Culture. Join us at the senior center on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for coffee and tea, laughter, crafts and our new stamp club.

For this year, as we bring in new initiatives and staff members, we are focusing on holiday offerings geared to our members and bringing holiday cheer into their lives through several events rather than holding one holiday fair. Check out the OSC holiday events schedule or email orcasseniorcenter@gmail.com for all the wonderful events to bring cheer to 2018 and contact us to sign up.
