‘Gypsy Ballads’ at roundtable

John Friedmann will take you on an autumn journey into time and space, reading from his own translations and renderings of Federico Garcia Lorca’s beloved “Gyspy Ballads” at the Writers’ Roundtable on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Orcas Library. A small number of these translations will be available for $10 each for those who want to follow his reading in the text.

Friedmann is well known among Orcas Island poetry lovers. He is retired from UCLA’s School of Public Policy and an Honorary Professor of the School of Community and Regional Planning at UBC Vancouver since 2001.
