Girl Scouts donate cookies to Orcas Food Bank

Submitted by Orcas Island Food Bank

On a sunny Tuesday afternoon, Jeannie Doty, manager of the Orcas Island Food Bank, welcomed 16 members of Girl Scout Troop 46485 bearing gifts: 35 boxes of famous Girl Scout cookies that were contributed by community members who opted to purchase boxes and donate them to the Food Bank. It’s a win-win all around: The troop gets credit for the sales, and the food bank clients get the goods!

There is a total of 19 girls in Troop 46485, ranging in age from 5 to 11 (kindergarten through fourth grade) and four leaders: Rochelle Nelson, troop leader and daisy leader; Holly King, junior leader; Ely Anderson, daisy leader; and Alexandria Romero, brownie leader.

The troop also donated 17 boxes of cookies to Military members via sales at their table as well as online.
