Things have been in turmoil and many of us here on Orcas Island and throughout the islands are feeling the distress that comes with caring about the world while living under the strain of a pandemic. Sometimes, we speak with our friends about it, sometimes we just bear the stress, maybe waking up at night thinking about what’s happening in our families, our country, and our hurting world.

Speaking with others who share this predicament can help. Especially when there is time for reflection, even for some times of silence, outside the normal rush of having to understand and work things out.

You are invited to a dialogue that brings together the pause of mindfulness with the power of reflecting on the things that matter most to us.

This one-and-a-half hour zoom conversation will be facilitated by Gregory Kramer, an Orcas resident who is also an internationally respected meditation teacher. Greg developed the practice of Insight Dialogue, an interpersonal meditation practice, and has facilitated retreats throughout the world. And while our evening will not involve formal practice, it will be informed by the healing quality of inquiry and acceptance, the power of wholesome friendship and community, and inspired by the world’s wisdom traditions.

This evening is freely offered. It will take place on Sunday, January 31 at 7 p.m. as an on-line gathering.

If you are interested in attending or have questions, please email orcasmoriah@gmail.com to register no later than Saturday January 30 with “Register Orcas” in the subject line.

You will receive an email confirmation of your registration with the zoom meeting link.
