The Visual Arts Committee at Orcas Center is responsible for creating a gallery-like atmosphere in the lobby and the Madrona Room that provides beautiful and interesting art every month.

The group plans a yearly schedule, procures the artists and art, then hangs and displays a new exhibit each month. On the first of Friday of each month, the VAC provides an opening reception for the artists and the entire community.

Throughout the months of December and January, the members of the VAC will exhibit their own art. An opening reception for the upcoming exhibit is on Friday, Dec. 7, 5:30-7 p.m. The current members are Mary Jane Elgin, Joan Fletcher, Marilee Holm, Ann Jones, Rick Jones, Vanessa Julian, Peg Laycock, Heidi Lindberg, Pat Littlewood, Janis Mattox, Leon Rosenblatt, Nina Sahlin and Kathy Youngren.
