Dance up an appetite for Thanksgiving at Odd Fellows on Nov. 19

All are invited to a lively community contra dance at the Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 7 to 10 p.m. "Come work up an appetite for Thanksgiving with a fun night of community dancing," said organizer Learner Limbach. "If you are a regular contra dancer, this a great band and caller. If you have never contra danced, come give it a go! No experience necessary. All the dances will be explained and called, and there are always folk willing to lead you through."

Music will be played by Seattle-based band “The Cookies.”

“This gender-imbalanced band features the fiddle playing of Miche-Baker Harvey, with Jean Geiger on banjo and guitar, Cathy Britell playing bass and autoharp, percussionist extraordinaire Cat Fox and Eric Hardee playing hammered dulcimer to round out the sweet sounds of the Cookie stringband,” said Limbach. Amy Wimmer will teach and call the dances.

The suggested donation is $5 per person or $10 per family to cover the cost of the band and hall. Kids are welcome.
