Community foundation accepting applications for Holiday Give Orcas

The Orcas Island Community Foundation is requesting proposals for the 2023 GiveOrcas Holiday Campaign.

OICF’s bi-annual GiveOrcas Campaigns are a way to build awareness of local nonprofits and raise funds to support the programs that make Orcas a stronger and more resilient community.

The success of the campaigns is achieved through a collaborative relationship between OICF, the island nonprofits, and most importantly, the community that rallies to support the Campaigns and the programs featured in it. GiveOrcas is a true community-wide effort.

Proposals will be prioritized based on the following:

• Does the proposal address a specific need?

• What is the likelihood of success of the proposal?

• Is this need/request unique to Orcas?

• Does the proposal serve a large number of islanders?

Grant requests are limited to a maximum of $15,000 during the Holiday Campaign.

The application is open to 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) organizations, government agencies, schools, or public service organizations (such as the library).

Please email Lynn Sharpless White for an application packet: lynn@oicf.us

The deadline to complete the application and submit the required documents by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2022. Email Tera Andaya (tera@oicf.us) or call her at 360-376-6423 if you have questions. We encourage you to reach out earlier rather than later.

The Orcas Island Community Foundation was founded in 1995 to help build and strengthen our community by encouraging and supporting local philanthropic efforts, connecting people and organizations who want to make a difference to improve the quality of life on Orcas Island.
