Orcas Island Community Church invites the island community to join them at the following special Christmas events this season.
“The Orcas Island Community Church offers something for everyone who wants to celebrate the Christmas season,” pastor Dick Staub told the Sounder.
All events will be held at the church at 176 Madrona Street in Eastsound. For more information about any of the events, call the church office Mondays through Fridays, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and ask for Monique.
Celtic Christmas
Friday, Dec. 2 and Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m.
“Once again, Windham Hill artist Jeff Johnson brings us a Celtic Christmas, this time with The Coram Deo Ensemble (Latin for “in God’s presence”) who with Jeff will weave a rich, sonic tapestry of Celtic, Gregorian, Classical and Contemplative sacred music,” said Staub. The ensemble is a unique, international collaboration between American composer/keyboardist Jeff Johnson; Irish flutist Brian Dunning; American violinist Wendy Goodwin; soprano Janet Marie Chvatal and German baritone Marc Gremm.
