Caregivers on San Juan, Orcas and Lopez have discussed starting a caregiver-owned homecare cooperative in the islands. Working with Northwest Cooperative Development Center, caregivers are starting a process to see if a caregiver co-op is right for their island and if it would benefit both the elders and the caregivers of these communities.

As a first step the group decided to survey island caregivers to get an idea of how many people are working as caregivers and an estimate of how many hours they are working. This survey is anonymous, and the results will be shared with the communities. Help us gather the information by taking a short survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Islandcaregivers

The survey is open until Feb. 22 — we encourage all island caregivers to take the survey.
