Boaters education course

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office would like to assist in preparing you for the upcoming boating season. Washington State law requires you to complete a boaters education course and carry a boaters education card while boating if you were born after January 1st 1955 and are operating a vessel equipped with an engine that is 15 horse power or more. In preparation to ensure a safe and enjoyable season, we are conducting a survey to determine interest and need for this class in San Juan County. The classes will be held on a weekend day starting in April of 2022. You must be 12 years of age or older to attend the course.

If you are interested attending this course, please contact Detective Raymond Harvey at rayh@sanjuanco.com or contact the Sheriff Office at 360-378-4151. Please provide your name, email address, phone number and what island you would prefer to attend the training on.
