Another chance to sing your heart out

Starting in February, the Orcas Center is offering choir classes directed by Grace McCune for singers of all ages.

First, the Orcas Center Children’s Choir will be meeting every Tuesday starting Feb. 2 at from 3:30 to 4:30 in the Off Center stage. This choir is open to all children ages 6 and older. The theme for this round of singing is the “Mickey Mouse Club.” The children will sing an array of classic Disney songs from their cartoon musicals.

Second, the “Rock on the Rock” choir will be meeting every Tuesday starting Feb. 2 at 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Off Center stage. This choir is open to all adults ages 16 and older. There are no auditions to participate in this choir. The only pre-requisites are the desire to sing and to have a good time doing it. The music for this round of singing ranges from Leonard Cohen to the musical “Rent” to The Beatles to Queen. There might even be a little ABBA thrown into the mix. Both choirs will meet for eight weeks.
