An Evening of Rock and Roll on the Village Green

Submitted by Orcas Center.

Rock out on Sunday, July 24 at 6pm with Lucky Tongue and The Pine Needles as part of the FREE Summer Concert Series presented by Orcas Center, OrcaSong Farm, Country Corner, and San Juan County.

Lucky Tongue was formed by three individuals with a true passion for music. Ever since banding together in 2000, they have been privileged to share their devotion to music and live performance with fans all over the world. Having overcome many challenges in a demanding industry, they are creating a distinct sound and receiving well-deserved industry acclaim.

Opening for Lucky Tongue are The Pine Needles – a group starting as the OIHS Band Club, these local teenagers practice at lunch in the shop classroom. Focusing on covers from 90s alternative rock groups, The Pine Needles draw a lot of their inspiration from Nirvana, Sublime, Weezer as well as Led Zepplin. Many of the members are multi-instrumentalists and have a background in orchestra, pep band, and hiphop. As garagebands are shifting to streaming, The Pine Needles are bringing a fresh sense of youth live music to Orcas Island.

Orcas Center’s Summer Concert Series on the Village Green is FREE thanks to donations from local businesses such as Darvill’s and WaFd. More information and full concert lineup can be found at www.OrcasCenter.org.
