Disney’s “Alice In Wonderland” will be performed Wednesday June 11, at the Orcas Center.

Tickets are five dollars at the door, and show time is 7:30 p.m. The performers are part of the Orcas Middle School Choir, directed by Lizz Hanks. This year’s production has been coordinated with parent volunteers and the Orcas Center. Keith Whitaker is the Drama Coach, Marian O’Brien is co-director and Idela Olsen and Margaret Alec are in charge of set and costume design.

This class is part of the Middle School Exploratory. All students in the play are in the seventh grade. This class, in addition to music technology and guitar exploratory classes will be cut next year due to school district’s shortfall. OIEF and MAG donations have financially supported the class for this year.

Lizz Hanks says, “Please come and enjoy our talented students and help support the performing arts program of the Orcas Island Public Schools.”

The cast includes: Cameron Schuh, as the Sea Creature; Jules Mann, as Alice; Winter Hyatt, as the Caterpillar; Rose Strasen, as Matilda; Tamara Kline, as Tweedle; Addie Newcombe, as the Queen of Hearts; Annie Ryder, as the White Rabbit; Sorrel Hughes, as the Cheshire Cat; Cody Henry, as the Sea Creature/percussion; Alex Grantham, in a dual role as the King and the Doorknob; and Kelsey Whitaker, as the Mad Hatter. Kelsey says, “ We worked really hard on this play and all the proceeds go to help us save our choir for next year. Thanks a lot and see you there!”
