I have been on the Land Bank Commission for more than 10 years now. When I first met Rick Hughes he was new to the county council and was not a fan of the Land Bank due to some preconceived notions. As time went by, he took the time to dig deeper and learn about what we do and how we do it and embraced the fact that we did good work. We gained his respect and he gained ours. I believe in this kind of leadership. I want this kind of leadership on our county council. And yes, this is also a plug for the land bank.
