Thanks to all Great Islands Clean-up Volunteers!

ORS/The Exchange wishes to thank everyone who came out on September 24th for the seventh annual Fall Great Islands Cleanup! Together we picked up 1,040 pounds of trash from 42 miles of roadsides and beaches. We had a record turnout of 70 people on a gorgeous Saturday morning. Many of those folks were part of the ever-growing “Westsound Posse”, organized by the irrepressible Ginger Moore and Nancy Sherman. 39 people-strong, they covered the roads from Deer Harbor to White Beach, essentially the entire west side of the island. We also had a strong showing in the Olga-Doe Bay area; our thanks to Hillary Canty for anchoring that team. Be ready for Spring 2023, around Earthday, for what will be the 10th Annual Spring GICU. We hope to add you to the Posse!

Best Regards,
