The Orcas Island Community Foundation (OICF) was selected by the LGBT fund to receive a grant of $1000. The LGBT fund supports programs that enhance our community inclusiveness, equality, and diversity.

These funds will be used in part to complete a community wide needs assessment. Over the past 18 months, OICF has convened organizations and stakeholders in each of the following sectors: health, early childhood development, education, social services, environment, arts and culture, and business and transportation.  The meetings focused on the unmet needs existing within our community. Greater awareness of needs within each sector is an important step towards maintaining a healthy community, increasing collaboration and cooperation among programs, and strengthening services to those in need.
