At last, April the cow has become Eastsound’s Honorable Mayor after a resounding victory in the Children’s House annual fundraiser in July.

She garnered 57 percent of the votes and now stands proudly in her pasture. I have learned that Children’s House is planning a celebration of this victory with a VIP Soiree to be held in April’s pasture on Saturday, Sept. 3 from 4:30 to 6 p.m.  This white linen affair will feature high-end wines, cheeses, and breads, and will give the attendees an opportunity to meet our new mayor.  This first-of-a-kind event should provide a fun-filled and unique experience with pictures that will generate conversation for years to come.
